Over 60 km long, the Keschde Trail leads through the Pfälzerwald Nature Park biosphere reserve out into the sunny wine country. From Hauenstein, the trail leads past bizarre rock formations to Annweiler. With a view of the Reichsfeste Trifels, the Keschde Trail continues to the German Wine Route. Through pretty wine-growing villages, it heads north to Villa Ludwigshöhe Castle, the summer residence of King Ludwig I, to the "Keschdeburg", Hambach Castle.
