Exhibition venue: Stone chamber in the Limburg monastery ruins
The Salian emperors Conrad II and Henry III had close ties to Limburg. With the burial of Queen Gunhild and as a place of education, administration and assembly, the monastery experienced its heyday in the 11th century.
This panel exhibition in the former double chapel focuses on the emperors' relations here and the function of the monastery. the function of the monastery. Special personalities such as Gottschalk von Limburg or the original castellum are also thematised.
A small scale model of the castle and models of the monastery church and the westwork will illustrate its appearance.
